Monkey World is a great day out for people of all ages. Being close to the apes and primates was amazing. I could watch them all day. The Orang-utan nursery was very funny, pay it a visit! The entrance to the park was accessible, and the paths were easy to get about. There were plenty of accessible toilets around. The only park that is not suitable for wheelchairs or prams is the woodland walk which is just a walk through a wood! One thing I liked about Monkey World was that for the visually impaired they had life size sculptures of the heads of the larger primates and the full body of the smaller ones. This means that people can feel how big or small the animals are by touching the sculpture. In the play areas they also have swings for people in wheelchairs that fit the wheelchair inside. The viewing areas had ramps and large windows so everyone can see through them. There was plenty of accessible car parking outside the entrance too. There was plenty of food areas around including picnic areas, a cafe and snack stands. |
